Adam Stevens, JD Cooling’s Managing Director, recently went along to Auchtermuchty Bellvue Colt’s training session and saw near on 50 children (boys and girls mixed) playing football alongside each other and at different ages – there was no discrimination.
Adam, said: “All the children were having fun, that’s what everyone want to see – children having fun together.
Everyone’s first sports club be it football, rugby, hockey etc. is such an important experience for children and families. It directs the passion and values they learn to play with – this desire stays with them for the rest of their lives.
The start for anyone has to be at grassroots level; if you look at our national teams you’re find majority started playing under the age of five, both men’s and ladies teams.”

“Their parents like us, taking them to the local clubs 2/3 nights a week – and getting involved themselves by coaching, marking the pitches, putting the goals out or even making the teas, but all getting involved and building comradely and friendship that bonds them all for life.
Modern life is changing, fast-paced and maybe some would say too much Xbox, and computers are stopping children getting outside, and maybe so. Therefore these young clubs are getting the kids outside, fresh air, exercise and getting them into something that they will never stop loving.
Bellvue Colt’s is at the centre of growing something big for the kids and families in and around Auchtermuchty and Fife. This is fantastic to see.
We are a family business at JD Cooling built up on core values and we are passionate supporters of dynamic people like Mark, JD Cooling Scotland’s Regional Manager Ross Hynd and the coaching team at Bellvue Colts. To see everything they do for the team all in their spare time as well is fantastic.”
Auchtermuchty Bellvue Colts are a community football club offering youth football coaching sessions for primary school children aged 5-12. Coaching sessions are held at Low Road Park, Auchtermuchty on Tuesday and Friday evenings between 6pm and 7:30pm.
